Picher Oklahoma, Nov. 28. Thomas Luther Ballenger, 23 years old, a tub hooker at the Tom Brown Mine, died at 3 pm this afternoon as a result of injuries received a few minutes before when he was struck upon the head by a boulder which fell down the shaft. Ballenger died in a Todd ambulance, of Picher, while being taken to a Picher hospital, at Picher. Ballenger was married. Besides his widow, Mrs. May Ballenger, a son, Eldon Luther Ballenger, 2 years old, and other relatives survive. The Ballenger family resides in the south part of Picher. No funeral arrangements have been made. Note: A note on the accident report stated that a rock fell down the shaft from an overloaded can.
Picher Oklahoma, Nov 29 Thomas Luther Ballenger, 23 years old, a hooker at the Tom Brown Mine, died at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon from injuries received a few minutes before when struck on the head by a falling boulder. Ballenger died on the way to a Picher hospital in an ambulance of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher. He lived in the south part of Picher.
Besides his wife, Mrs. May Ballenger, and a son, Eldon Luther Ballenger, two years old, Ballenger is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ballenger of Zincville Oklahoma; one brother, Walker Ballenger, at home and four sisters, Mrs. Goldie Brower, Mrs. Sylvia Burton and Imogene Ballenger and Adeta Ballenger, all of Zincville Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at the Christian church at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The Rev. Rolla Grim, pastor of the Commerce Oklahoma Christian church will officiate and burial will be in Forest Park cemetery at Joplin Missouri under direction of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher.
Picher Oklahoma, Nov 30 Funeral services for Thomas Luther Ballenger, 23 years old, who died Monday from injuries received at the Tom Brown Mine, were held at the Christian church at 2 o'clock this afternoon. The Rev. Rolla Grimm, pastor of the Commerce Christian church, officiated. Burial was in Forest Park cemetery at Joplin Missouri under direction of the Todd undertaking company, of Picher.
