Joplin Globe · Feb 27 1909 · Pg 6 · Col 4

The funeral of Westley Baker, who sustained injuries in the Golden Glow Mine near Webb City Missouri Wednesday afternoon that later proved fatal was held this afternoon from the First Baptist church, corner of Sixth street and Cornwall avenue. The Rev. J. S. Umberger conducted the last rites over the body, after which interment was made in the Lowell cemetery.

Mr. Baker was 27 years old, and has made his home with his father, S. Baker, who lives on a farm close to Galena Kansas, until a few months ago, when he found employment in the mines at Webb City. Since that time he has worked steadily at Webb City until Wednesday, the day on which the accident occurred. He was removed to Galena yesterday where the body was placed in charge of the parent until burial in the afternoon. Note: Did not find an article on the accident in the Globe.
