Leland Bailey, 23 years old, who suffered a fractured leg and foot in an accident at the Central Mine, near Picher Oklahoma, died at 1:30 pm this afternoon at Miami Baptist hospital, where he was taken for treatment following the accident. Death was the result of complications. Bailey's home is in Green Forest Arkansas. Note: According to accident report at the Bureau of Mines, a roof trimmer was pulling on a slab. The slab fell and the roof trimmer jumped at the same time throwing his bar which struck Bailey in his side above his hip, sticking into his body about six inches. The bar turned and fell, leaving a deep torn hole in the injured's side. The slab broke his leg.

The body of Leland E. Bailey, who died Friday afternoon at Miami Oklahoma Baptist hospital as a result of injuries suffered in an accident at the Central Mine, near Picher Oklahoma, where he was employed, was sent yesterday by the Cooper undertaking company of Miami to Green Forest Arkansas, his former home, for burial. Bailey was 23 years old. He leaves his mother, Mrs. Maggie Martin of Green Forest.
