Picher Oklahoma Homer Preston Alexander, 43 years old, died at 11 o'clock Friday night in Picher hospital, from injuries received when struck on the head by a falling timber at the A. & A. Mine, four miles south of Bartlett Kansas. The timber fell 70 feet. The accident occurred at 8:45 pm. Alexander is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Alexander; two daughters, Elsie Alexander and Betty Lou Alexander; three sons, Leroy Alexander, Johnny Alexander and Tommy Alexander, all of the home, and three sisters. The body is at the Durnil funeral home, Picher, and funeral plans are incomplete. Note: Burial date May 23, 1939 at G.A.R. cemetery. G.A.R. Cemetery Records-Miami Oklahoma.
