of Commerce Oklahoma, shot and killed Jesse Turner at Joplin Missouri on Friday night. A charge of first degree murder was filed against Steele by being arraigned in a justice court at Joplin Monday. Turner according to witnesses had been quarrelsome all evening. He is said to have several times threatened to kill Steele, despite Steele's efforts to avoid trouble with him. Declaring that he had told him for the last time to quit fooling with him, Steele drew a revolver and shot Turner four times. A fifth shot grazed his neck.
