from the Vinita Oklahoma Sun-Herald: "Robert Ironside, Sr., passed away this morning at 10:30 o'clock. Since his fall a few days ago when he broke his hip, he has been failing rapidly and little hope was entertained for his recovery. Age 72, he was born in Canada 72 years ago, November 30th, and went from there to Kansas, and being a Shawnee, spent some time on the Shawnee Reservation near Kansas City Kansas. Mr. Ironside took an active part in Shawnee affairs and was at one time a delegate to Washington for that tribe. Surviving Mr. Ironside are three children: Mrs. William Hancock of Lenapa Oklahoma, a daughter by his first wife, and Mrs. J. S. Davenport and Robert Ironside by his second wife, Mrs. West; a sister, of Kansas City, has been here with him for several days.
