Hamacher, Edward P.
Abstract Data
a gruesome find was made at Afton Oklahoma Tuesday afternoon when the body of Hamacher was found in the Ironside rooming house of that city. It was supposed that death was due to excessive drinking and continued bad health. He was a well known hay dealer at Afton and had made his home at that point for several years, leaving a son at Sapulpa Oklahoma and a daughter, who had not been located at this writing. It is thought bysome that hehad been dead sinceFriday, and others claim theysawhim Saturday, but hehad not been seen by anyone since that time until his body was found. The explanation for the fact that he was not missed sooner is to the effect that he had often remained in his room for two or three days at a time, being in ill health as the result of a serious fall sustained last summer, in which his skull was fractured. Paul Hamacher, son of the deceased, arrived Wednesdaymorning, but interment was deferred until Wednesday afternoon at which time a brother, O. M. Hamacher of Richmond Missouri, arrived taking charge of the body.
