Captain, George J.

"Buck" Captain of Miami, died May 19, 1997 at Joplin Missouri, age 74. Born Aug 14, 1922, in Ottawa county Oklahoma. An Air Force veteran, he served more than 30 years and flew more than 20 missions during World War II. He served in the Secret Service Intelligence Dept in the military and was president of the Intertribal council of the Eastern Shawnee Tribe, which he was chief of for 18 years. Married Betty Cole on Nov 17, 1945, at Baxter Springs Kansas, she survives. Burial in the Glenn Abbey Memorial Garden cemetery, east of Miami.
