Victims of Fire at Blue Mound Buried - Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Smith and three year old daughter, Bernice Smith, and Miss Ida Blackford, victims of the fire at Blue Mound Saturday morning, were held from the chapel of the Todd undertaking company, Picher, Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev Wesley Post, pastor of the Union church officiating. Miss Blackford is survived by a sister, Mrs. W. O. Cleveland, who resides near the Vinegar Hill Mine. Mrs. Smith was 24 years old and is survived by her mother, Mrs. W. S. Chumley, of Cardin Oklahoma; husband, Dayton B. Smith, Truman Arkansas, and daughter, Lucille Smith, five years old. Although the victims of the fire had only a few relatives surviving in this district, the funeral was attended by many and was one of the largest for several months.
