died Jan 8, age 3 years 11 months 11 days, daughter of E. L. and Lulah Bond living across Grand River, south of Fairland, was burned to death on the morning of the 8th. The parents had stepped out of the room when they heard her screams, and rushing in, a horrible sight met their eyes. The child had been putting cobs in the king heater and her dress had been drawn into the flames by the draught, and when they reached her she was in a sheet of flames and a little 2-year old sister was standing holding to her. The child lived until four o'clock in the afternoon, when her spirit took its flight. The bereaved parents have the sympathies of the community.
