age 42, was shot twice and almost instantly killed at 9:30 pm last night at the State Line pool hall at Picher Oklahoma. Sam Hannon, one of the proprietors of the Connell hotel at Picher is held in the Ottawa county Oklahoma jail in connection with the shooting. ... three shots were fired by Hannon. The first shot struck Stewart on the left side piercing the left lung as it passed through his body. A second shot missed and the third, it was stated at the Todd undertaking establishment, entered the abdominal region. Stewart died within fifteen minutes after he had been rushed to the Picher hospital. The gun play followed a quarrel. Buried Republic Missouri. Family lives in Scammon Kansas.

trail of Sam Hannan for the Stewart death. Widow of Stewart asks $20,000 damages in a civil action which has been filed against Hannon in the district court. The damage suit is based on the killing of Stewart.
