died. A veteran of the Civil War, for many years a resident of Miami, died last night at the Federal Soldiers home at Leavenworth Kansas. Mr. Shriver was about 80 years of age. Mr. Shriver was well known by the early residents of Miami. He had been the G.A.R. Post Adjt at Miami and was responsible for many Civil War veterans' having military tombstones. Twenty years ago he was a deputy United States marshal. Later he was engaged in the real estate business. Four daughters and two sons survive. He was married twice. Surviving children of the first marriage are Mrs. O. W. Hereford of Las Vegas New Mexico, Oscar Shriver of Leavenworth and Eugene Shriver who lives in the west. Of the second marriage the children are Martha Shriver, Ruby Shriver and Beulah Shriver. They live with relatives at Leavenworth. Mrs. Shriver, the second wife, died about four years ago. Funeral arrangements had not been completed this morning.

The body of R. M. J. Schriver, who died Tuesday night at the Federal soldiers' home at Leavenworth arrived in Miami this morning and is being held at the undertaking parlors of the Mitchell-Fleming undertaking company chapel tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. George C. Cole, pastor of the M. E. church will conduct the service. The interment will be at the G.A.R. cemetery at Miami. The relatives who will be able to be present are: Mrs. O. W. Herford, and two sons, Oscar Schriver and James Schriver of Montana.
