age 19, died. Was driving along the stateline road two miles northwest of Picher Oklahoma when he was met by two lads who had evidently been hunting, as they carried a .22 caliber Winchester rifle. The boys wanted a ride and upon the Robbins boy refusing their request an altercation ensued. One of the boys picked up the Winchester and shot Robbins through the heart, killing him instantly. Columbus Kansas officers, assisted by Charles Warner of Commerce Oklahoma, placed the two boys under arrest and took them to Columbus Kansas jail. Note: Name was John Robbins in Miami Record-Herald newspaper.
