a charge of burglary and larceny was filed Monday in the Newton county circuit court, against John York, who with his wife, was arrested in connection with an attempt to burglarize the P. H. Carlisle package liquor store at County Line and Main street, Joplin Missouri at 4 o'clock Sunday morning, according to Joplin Police. York and his wife were arrested at their home in Picher after State highway patrol had frustrated the burglary, forcing two persons to abandon their automobile and 23 cases of liquor they had carried out of the establishment. No charges have been filed against York's wife or the third suspect, a Picher woman, it is stated. It is stated that the automobile left behind, belonged to Ace Moreland of Picher. York, according to Joplin police officers, had previously stated the car belonged to him and was stolen in Picher Saturday. Evening. A charge of burglary and larceny was filed Tuesday at Neosho Missouri against Alfonso Crigger, who had been arrested in Picher. He is the second man to be charged in the above burglary attempt. It is reported that a third man is also involved in the case.
