Wyatt, Edgar
Abstract Data
The condition of Edgar 'Lefty' Wyatt of Miami, who was injured in an accident early Saturday at the Paxson Mine, three miles west of Baxter Springs Kansas, could not be learned today. The attending physician, a clerk at the Picher hospital, Picher Oklahoma said, would not be available until after this afternoon. A representative of the National Mutual Casualty Company, also of Picher, to whom a referral was given, was also away from his office at 1 pm. Other persons at the hospital and the Casualty Company office said they had no information as to Wyatt's condition. Wyatt's condition was reported serious Monday. The miner, it was reported, was caught by the dump bed of a truck as it was being emptied. He received chest, head, back and internal injuries when he was crushed against the low ceiling of the drift. He was taken to the Picher hospital in a Durnil ambulance.
