a resident of Picher until just a few months ago, when he and his wife went to the West Coast, died early Tuesday morning, Jul 31, 1945, at San Diego California. A telegram received by his sister, Mrs. S. K. Wormack, brought news of his death but no details, only that he body would be returned to Picher for burial. It is not known at this time when the funeral services will be held.

Funeral services for Francis Fred Stratton, 45 year old Picher resident who died Jul 30, 1945 were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial was made in the Baxter Springs Kansas cemetery under direction of the Durnil funeral home. Survived by his widow, Mrs. Aline Stratton; one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Faherty of California; two brothers, Joe Stratton and John Stratton of Madison Illinois; and four sisters, Mrs. Elbert Link of Parmer Missouri, Mrs. Joe Oakley of Ellsinore Missouri, Mrs. S. K. Warmack and Mrs. Abigail Stacy, both of Picher.
