age 25, has been awarded the Purple Heart and the Gold Oak Leaf Cluster. The Purple Heart was received for wounds received in action against the enemy while serving with the 45th division during the invasion of Italy in September of 1943. He received a shrapnel wound in the arm and many nerves were severed. He is the son of the late A. J. Sexton, a former Picher Policeman.

Albert L. Sexton - married Miss Jerry Anderson of Aurora Missouri on Wednesday evening, Jun 6, 1945, by Justice C. H. Jennings at the office of Mayor Lawrence Voyles. Sergeant Sexton, a son of the late A. J. 'Slim' Sexton, a former Picher officer, has been in the Army nearly four years and in recent months has been a patient at the O'Rielly hospital at Springfield Missouri. His bride formerly lived in Picher.
