age 55, of Hallowell Kansas and his daughter, Mrs. Wilda Eldredge, 32 year old school teacher were killed instantly about 2:30 Saturday afternoon when the car in which they were riding was struck by the fast moving Frisco passenger Flyer at a railroad cross, a mile and a half south of Columbus Kansas. The occupants were en route to Cardin Oklahoma where Mr. Rowland was night watchman for the Evans-Wallower Mining company and his daughter was on her way to visit a friend. She had been staying with her parents at Hallowell. She had formerly taught school in the Picher schools, as well as in Kansas and New Mexico, but was not employed at the time of her death. Joint funeral services were held in Cardin. Durnil funeral home, Picher Oklahoma. Burial in the McKee cemetery at Hallowell.
