Cpl. Poole recently wrote his mother, Mrs. Willie H. Poole, Baxter Springs Kansas, and brother, Frank Poole of East F street, Picher, that he is in an Army hospital in England, suffering from injuries to his feet, Corporatl Poole has been serving with a Parachute Battalion in Germany and it was during fighting in Germany taht he received his injuries. He did not give details concerning the extent of his injuries; although he mentioned that Staff Sergeant Floyd J. Gilmore, another Picher boy was injured at the same time. Poole said they were getting along okay. Frank has another brother, Private Harold J. Poole, who lost his foot when he stepped on a mine in Germany about two months ago, the latter is now in an Army hospital in Brigham City Utah.
