North, Cecil

Abstract Data

is in the American hospital, Picher in a very dangerous condition from burns suffered in an explosion which occurred north of Picher early yesterday morning while he was repairing a truck of the Dines Mining Company, which he operates. Second degree burns cover about one third of his entire body. The victim will probably recover, the doctors said because of the use of sulfa treatment, such as is employed by the U.S. Army for wounds, and the use of blood plasma. It is thought that a fuel line was leaking. North, after borrowing a carbide lamp crawled under to repair it. North is about 27 years old. He lives at 400 North Columbus, Picher, with his wife and five children. He was brought to the hospital by a passing motorist.
