37 years old, hoisterman at the Baird Mine, half a mile south of Cardin Oklahoma, was killed at 7 am this morning when he became entangled in the hoist. Moore was alone in the derrick room and had started the hoist preparatory to lowering workmen into the mine. After waiting for about 10 minutes, workingmen went to the hoist room and found Moore caught between the belt and the drum of the hoist. It is presumed that he was engaged in oiling the machinery or making minor adjustments, and became entangled. He was badly crushed about the head and shoulders and apparently was killed instantly. Moore was born in London Kentucky and was a resident of Columbus and Cherokee county Kansas, for many years, he moved with his family to Cardin Oklahoma recently and was living there at the time of his death. Moore married Miss Hazel Bresheirs of Miami June 6, 1938, she survives. Moore resided Cardin Oklahoma in recent months, but he had lived most of this life at Crestline Kansas. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 pm Wednesday at the Catlett funeral home at Columbus Kansas. Burial will be in Park cemetery at Columbus.
