Abstract Data

The annual mother-daughter banquet for the Upstreamers class of the Union church and their mothers was held Tuesday night in the dining room at the church. Mrs. Pauline Hall was toastmistress for the evening. Mrs. Kathryn Montgomery gave the welcome address and the response was made by her mother, Mrs. C. H. Jennings. A trio composed of Miss Mabel Phillips, Miss Dorothy Daugherty, and Mrs. Hall then sang. Rev. Herbert E. Gatti of Chelsea, formerly pastor of the Miami Methodist church gave the address of the evening in the absence of his wife who was ill and could not attend the banquet. Mrs. Wesley Post, class sponsor, presented Mr. Gatti with a gift for Mrs. Gatti. Other short talks were made by Mrs. J. H. Mott, Mrs. B. B. Brumfield, Miss Grace Gillispie of Miami and Mrs. Post. Miss Peggy Morris presented Mrs. Post with a beautiful lace doily as a Mother's Day gift from the class. The program closed with a prayer by Mrs. Myrtle Post.
