9 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Mitchell, south Main street, Picher, was fatally injured last Wednesday Aug 1, 1945, when he was either stepped on or kicked by a horse he was trying to catch or water in a pasture about a half-mile south of Picher. The youth, who was picked up and brought to the Picher hospital, Picher, by a driver of a bread truck, was injured about 10 o'clock and died an hour later in the hospital. It was stated that the right side of hi head was badly crushed. Besides his parents, he was survived by two brothers, Buel Mitchell and Franklin Mitchell, both of the home, and three sisters, Mrs. Barbara West, San Diego California, Mary Louise Mitchell and Frances Mitchell, both of the home. Mitchelson funeral home, Commerce Oklahoma. Burial in G.A.R. cemetery, Miami.
