Millard, Mutt

Abstract Data

was seriously burned Monday evening when he rescued his three small children, twin sons 5 years old and a three year old daughter from their burning home in Mineral Heights about 10:45 o'clock. The three children were all more or less injured by burns and received treatment at the local hospital where the father is now confined. The attending physician reported that Millard would recover is nothing did not set in as the result of his burns. The fire, the cause of which is not known, started in the living room, blocking the exit from the bedroom where the father and 3 small children were sleeping. The mother, who works in a war plant at Parson Kansas was not in the building. He was awakened by the smoke and seeing no other way to remove the children, threw them through a window then jumped after them, removing them from danger. The loss of the home is estimated at $1000.
