Abstract Data

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jennings of 428 South Connell Avenue, received a message from the War Department Saturday, stating that their son, Private Willard M. Jennings had been killed in action somewhere in Italy. The message stated that he was killed on October 12, 1944. Private Jennings had been overseas only a few months prior to his death. He entered the service in December, 1943 receiving his training at Camp Fannin, Texas, and Fort George Meade, Maryland. His wife and small son, Larry Dean, have been residing in Tulsa Oklahoma. Besides his wife and child and his parents, also surviving are three brothers, Corporal Floyd Jennings, who is overseas in the South Pacific. Harry Jennings and Amon Jennings, both of San Diego, Calif.; and three sisters, Mrs. Harley Jones and Misses Lucille and Betty Jennings of Picher. The family's many friends extend to them their heartfelt sympathy in their bereavement.
