a resident of Picher Oklahoma for 27 years, died at 20:25 Thursday evening at the Picher hospital. He had been ill for practically two years, much of which he was almost totally blind, but despite this handicap maintained a cheerful disposition. Mr. Jennings, who was 78 years old, had served in many different offices as a peace officer, serving three terms as constable and as a deputy sheriff. He also served as Justice of the Peace for four years, and had his office on Third street, Picher. He was born in Buffalo Missouri, and came to Picher from that point. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anne Jennings of the home at 208 South Picher St.; four sons, Harley Jennings of Picher; James Jennings of Cowiche Washington; Ernie Jennings of Joplin Missouri and Jess Jennings of Reno, Nevada; and two daughters, Miss Iva Jennings of Albuquerque New Mexico, and Mrs.Una Ohlhausen of Duquesne. Durnil funeral home, Picher. Burial in G. A. R. cemetery, Miami.
