Abstract Data

36 years old discharged veteran of World War II on account of ill health, was found dead in Chat Creek last Wednesday morning about 50 feet south of A street, Picher on the West side of Connell avenue,. How long he had lain in the ditch has not been definitely decided. He was seen about town early Monday night at that ws the last reports of him alive. The ditch were Inman was found is only about ten fee wide, ribbed with rock and carries practically no water in it except during pumping hours when the water from a mine is pumped into it, and during a wet period. Any one lying in the ditch would be out of sight from both roadways and altho the body was recovered within hearing distance of several places, no one heard any cries for assistance, as far as this paper has been able to learn. Inman is survived by his mother, Mrs. Grace Inman; six brothers, Clarence Inman, Orville Inman and Gene Inman of Picher, Dan Inman who is in the Army overseas, Ernest Inman stationed at Camp Roberts California and Carl Inman in the Navy at San Diego California; two sisters Mrs. Alma Schluetter and Mrs. Thelma Rhodes of Picher. Durnil funeral home, Picher. Burial in G.A.R. cemetery, Miami.
