Technical Sergeant Herd - Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Herd of Tucson Arizona, formerly of Picher and Seneca have been informed that their son was killed in action of Luzon, on April 19, 1945. He was erving with the 158th infantry, known as the panama Bushmasters. He entered the service in Jan 1941, and received training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Camp Barkley Texas before going to the Panama Canal zone for additional training in jungle fighting. He was sent to the southwest Pacific in Jan 1943.
