The Ellen Vandergriff class of the Union church met at the church for an all-day meeting Thursday. A covered dish luncheon was served at noon and business and social sessions were held in the afternoon. A Christmas gift exchange was also held. The meeting was opened by the president, Mrs. Elizabeth Morris, and the following program followed Son,'Have Thine Own Way,Lord;' prayer,Mrs.PearlCox; scripture, Matthew 7, Rev. Mrs. Harry Craig; roll call, answered by scripture verse; secretary's report read and accepted; treasurer's report read and approved; a vote of thanks was extended to the president, teach, secretary, treasurer and sponsor. The meeting was then turned over to the nominating committee and the following officers were elected: Mrs. May Nance, teacher, president, Mrs. Elizabeth Morris; secretary, Mrs. Dolly Ebersole; treasurer, Mrs. Elizabeth Phillips. The yearly report was as follows: Bible brought to class, 843; chapters read, 4,036; mission calls, 736; present, 813; members present at the meeting were: Mesdames Melinda Anderson, Homer McBride, Bea Clark, Gertrude Grumm, C. H. Kerr and son, J. H. Klinefelter, Dora Koch, Etta Austin, Ed Quiett, Edith Harper and son, Gurn Hubbard and grrandaughter, Wesley Post, Myrtle Post and daughter, Elizabeth Phillips, Chris Williams, J. H. Mott, Pearl Cox, Roy Vandiver, Stella Colvard and daughter, Lena Montgomery, Elizabeth Morris, Hal Irvin, Henry Keen, C. H. Jennings, U. S. Jennings, Bert Nance, Harry Craig and daughter, John Wesley, Mary Chazell, Clyde Best, Frank Hicks, Dona Gibson, Rose Ross, Johnny Roland, Dorothy Novak, Martha Cole, Dolly Ebersole and Mrs. Rose Eichman and Miss Mamie Eichman.
