Mrs. Ida Mae Curlee, 507 North Netta street has received word that her son Pfc Curlee suffered wounds to a hip by shrapnel fire in fighting in the Phillippines in May. Private Curlee has been awarded the Purple Heart. He has been in service since July 1944, and was sent overseas in February of this year.
