Telegrams were received the first of the week by Mr. and Mrs. Willis Cruzan 522 North Netta street, Picher, stating that their son Lieut. Leonard Cruzan who has been a prisoner of the Germans for almost 3 years had been freed and being returned to England.

Tec. Sergeant Cruzan is spending a 609 day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Cruzan and family and other friends and relatives and will then report to a Florida base for further assignment. T-Sgt. Was captured by the Germans Oct 14, 1942, and spent 2 years in prison camps in that country until liberated by the Allies. He appears in good health at this time. He was received two Purple Heats, the Oak Leaf Cluster and several other medals. He is in the Aviation department of the Army.

Cruzan, 522 North Netta street, Picher Oklahoma, who served 24 months in the Euopean theater of operations as a Radio Operator has arrived at the Antonio District AAF Personnel Distribution Command. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie B. Cruzan. Sergeant Cruzan wears the Air Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, European Theater of Operations Ribbon with one Battle Star, Purple Heart with one cluster, Good Conduct Ribbon.
