The Young Crusaders class of the Union Sunday school enjoyed a delightful party Monday night at the home of their teacher, Mrs. Georgia Cronk, North Connell avenue. Officers for 1939 were elected as follows: Maxine Cantrell, president; Naydene Mallett, vice-president; Maybell Webster, treasurer; Velma Lee Kidwell, assistant; Marguerite Stewart,secretary; Juanita Timms, assistant; Wuweta Watson,recording secretary;Louise Nellums,assistant. Following the election the president appointed the following committees:Visiting Betty Coffelt,Juanita Brashaear, Billie Dean Kersey,May Lavon Taylor,Billie Mae Mallett; serving Bettie Ross, Lora Faye Kidwell, Beatrice Webster,Frances Holcomb; social and games alma Ruth Parks, Barbara Ann Walker, Eloise Allen, Betty Stewart, Martha Jean Williams. After this officers were installed. A social hour, during which time hot chocolate and wafers were served, concluded the party. Mrs. Cronk was assisted in entertaining by Mrs. Mary Swango. Children were returned to their respective homes by Mrs. Cronk and Tom Swango. A Valentine party will beheld by the class in February. Mrs. Cronk also announced the young Crusaders class held the gold star banquet at the Union church for having the largest attendance for 16 consecutive months. Present were Velma Lee Kidwell, Marguerite Stewart, Betty Coffelt, Juanita Brashear, Martha Jean Williams, Barbara Ann Walker, Eloise Ann Allen, Naydeen Mallett, Louise Nellums, Frances Holcomb, Wanda Lee Nellums, Wilma Nellums, Juanita Timms, Alma Ruth Parks, Faye Lucille Petitt, Myrtle Holcomb, Mae Dell Webster, Lottie Ross, Bettie Ross, Wilma Jones, Billie Mae Mallett,MaybellWebster, Bettie Steward, Margaret Stewart, Beatrice Webster, Cozette Avey, Joy Shelley, WuWeta Watson, Sammy Lou Swango, Billie Dean Kersey, the hostess, Mrs. Cronk and her assistant, Mrs. Swango.
