76 year old former Picher resident, died unexpectedly at 10:30 Monday morning at his home in Miami. He had been in ill health for several years. He moved from Picher four years ago. He had been employed in the machine ships of the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting Company for 25 years. He served on Picher's city council when he resided here. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mabel Burkholder; a son, Joe Burkholder, who is serving this the armed forces in Germany; thee sisters, Mrs. Amy Haggard and Mrs. Rachel Daniels of Dallas Texas and Mrs. Walter Graham of Webb City Missouri, and two brothers, Gilbert Burkholder of Duenweg and Clyde Burkhold of Neosho Missouri. Active pallbearers chosen were: G. C. Niday, Otis Everett, F. W. Miser, Burr Aton, Walter Freudenberg and James L. Davidson. Honorary pallbearers were: E. E. Shipley, J. D. Wineland, Walter Jenkins and August Witzansky. Knell mortuary of Carthage Missouri. Services in Miami Methodist church. Burial in the G.A.R. cemetery.
