Brumfield, John Hugh

the son of former Tribune Editor was killed in action. He was victim of a submarine attack, Aluetian Island. There is an account by Lieutenant W. H. Wright of what occurred during the attack. Wright reached the limp body of his friend Brumfield about five minutes after their ship had been shelled by an enemy sub, Sunday evening, Aug 30, 1942. During the course of action Monday Aug 31, the enemy sub was sank.
