a photo, age 82, died May 13, 1998, at his Miami home. Born Sep 28, 1915, at Rhineland Missouri. He moved to Miami in 1941, as an advanced flight instructor with Spartan Aviation, training pilots at British Flight Training School No. 3, at Miami. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, flying 104 missions as a "hump pilot" in China, Burma and India. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross in 1945. He returned to Miami in 1949 and founded Miami Stone Company, ...he sold the company in 1993. Married Pauline Montgomery on Feb 14, 1938. She died in 1985. He married Maxine Harlan in 1986. She survives.
