Hance, Doris Clara

age 95, of Commerce Oklahoma, died May 15, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Donna Sue White in Pecan Gap Texas.

Born Oct 16, 1903, in Phillipsburg Missouri to James Riggs and Clara Kathner Riggs. She had lived in Commerce since 1945 moving there from Picher Oklahoma. In Picher, she and her husband owned and operated a neighborhood grocery store on North Picher street. Owned and operated Hance Variety Store in Commerce and the Chetopa Kansas, 5 and 10 cent store for over 20 years. Married Elmer Hance in Jan 19 1926. He preceded her in death in 1946. Burial in G.A.R. cemetery, Miami.
