age 87, died Aug 6, 1999, at his home in Santa Maria California, of natural causes. Born May 5, 1912, in Carterville Missouri, to John Graham and Mayme Graham. His father was a mill foreman. He grew up in Picher Oklahoma, but moved to Riverton Kansas and returned to Picher in 1932. He played semi-pro baseball and basketball. In the early 1940's he moved to California. A veteran, he served in World War II. In January of 1943, at the age of 31, he enlisted in the U.S. Army air Corps. He flew 18 missions over Germany and picked up his nickname, "Pop." He worked as an executive pilot before being recalled to duty during the Korean War. Memorial service in Santa Maria, another special service in Picher on Sep 4th. Burial place is not given.
