Duggan, Clifton DeeWitt

age 90, of Jay Oklahoma, died Oct 1, 1999, at Grove Oklahoma. Born Aug 23, 1909, in Dallas Texas, to Harrison Duggan and Lura Duggan. An Army veteran, he retired Mar 1, 1966, after 27? years of service, attaining the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. He began his career by enlisting in the 36th Infantry Division, Texas National Guard, on Dec 1, 1939. During World War II, he participated in the North African and Italian Campaigns, including the battles of Salerno, Alta Villa, Caserta, Naples, San Pietro, Casino and the Rapido River, and the taking of Rome. During the Korean War, while with the 4th Army, he fought in the Carwon Valley near the Chosun Reservoir. At the time of his death, he was a member of the 36th Division Association. Married Virginia Elizabeth on Apr 12, 1941, at Brownwood Texas. Worley-Luginbuehl funeral home, Jay. Burial place not given.
