He owned and operated a grocery store in Treece with his wife, and had owned and operated the Nancy Jane Mine tour, south of Picher Oklahoma with George Van Pool. He operated hard rock lead and zinc mining ventures in the Tri-State area for several years. Married Mary Dungan on Mar 4, 1939, in Kansas City Missouri. she preceded him in death on Nov 22, 1997. Burial in Baxter Springs cemetery.
