Abstract Data
a photo. A local high school athlete died when the car he was driving passed under a railroad overpass that has been plagued with problems in recent weeks. Brad Stoner, a star running back for his school's football team, was eastbound on Highway 69A near Quapaw Okla, when his 1990 Pontiac passed by a semi-truck hauling a boat mold in the opposite lane. The driver of the truck, William Gilbert, age 59, lost the load when he attempted to drive under the railroad overpass, the cargo struck the overpass and was knocked off the trailer, and landed on Stoner's car. The roof of the car was sheared off and the mold came to rest in the middle of the road. Stoner was pronounced dead by the medical examiner at Miami's Baptist Regional Health Center. William Gilbert and his passenger, Ann Gilbert, were not injured.
