Owens, Fred Monroe

Abstract Data

the late Fred Monroe Owens formerly of Picher Oklahoma was remembered Sunday as hundreds of people gathered for a ceremony held near the military "Moving Wall" that was on display in Grove Oklahoma. A dog tag with Owens's military identification information was placed on a bamboo cage signifying his POW and MIA, this is Prisoner of War and Missing in Action, which remains. Owens is one of 41 listed on Oklahoma's POW and MIA list. The late Jerry Leonard Williams is the only other Picher native listed on the wall. Veterans from throughout the state attended the event and comforted each other as they remembered their fallen comrades.
