a photo, age 85, died at Miami Nov 22, 2002. Born Jul 11, 1915, in Iola Kansas to Minnie Oliver and Otis Oliver. Served in the U.S. Navy and received his pilot wings at the Pensacola Naval Air Station in Sep 1941. A veteran, he was commissioned as an ensign in the U.S. Navy and received his pilot wings at the Pensacola Naval Air Station in Sep 1941. He was a pilot instructor at Corpus Christi Texas, until transferred to the World War II South Pacific Theater in Mar 1942, After a tour as a dive bomber squadron commander in the Coral Sea, he served as a test pilot at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Maryland, from June 1943 until his retirement in 1945. Married Ura Claire Hitchcock 58 years ago, she survives. Burial G.A.R. cemetery at Miami. Cooper-Althouse funeralhome, Miami.
