North, Marcus L.

age 81, of Welch Oklahoma died Aug 5, 2001, at Joplin Missouri. Born Jun 10, 1920, at Perry Florida. A veteran, he served in the National Guard before enlisting in the Army. A tech sergeant, he served in the 30th Division in the five major campaigns of World War II. He received the Purple Heart, and other medals. Married in 1946 and his wife preceded him in death. He married Velma L. Martin in 1995, and she survives. Services at Skyway Memorial Gardens, Palmetto Florida. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas funeral home, Welch. Burial place is not given.
