A veteran, he served in the Navy for 20 years and worked for the Eagle-Picher Precision Products Plant in Joplin Missouri for 24 years. Married Lois Marie Dardeen on Jul 23, 1945, in Washington, D.C. she preceded him in death Dec 8, 1995. Derfelt's Baxter Springs Kansas funeral home. Burial at Hillcrest cemetery in Galena Kansas.
