a photo. Born Oct 18, 1926, in Rockford Illinois, to Harry Adams and Orva Adams. Mr. Adams worked as a chemical engineer for Eagle Picher. He started at the Central Mill at Cardin Oklahoma, and became plant manager of the Rare Metals Plant, Quapaw Oklahoma; and vice president of the Speciality Materials Division. He retired in 1992 after 41 years. He received the Engineering Excellence award in 1993 in recognition of his contribution to the conversion of germanium from electronic materials to high quality infrared optical materia. He was known as "Mr. Germanium" to his associates. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marylyn Adams. Burial place was not given.
