Vernon, Bobby S.

Bob Vernon, age 81, died May 14, 2002, in Grove Okla after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. Born May 9, 1921, in Gray Horse to Louis Vernon and Elise Boxarth Vernon. Moved with his family to Columbia South Carolina. Moved to Grove in 1963. A veteran, he followed in his father's footsteps he joined the Army Air Corps on Sep 23, 1939, and received a battlefield commission in Italy during World War II. He honorably retired as a major on Aug 31, 1962. Married Lucille Linder on Jan 8, 1955, in Hutchinson Kansas. She survives. BurialBuzzard cemetery, near Grove.
