Born Apr 21, 1917, at the family farm on Elm Creek in northeast Ottawa county Okla to David William Vanpool and Addie May McCorkle Vanpool. He retired from farming in 1979. He founded the Tri-State Finance Corporation and the Tri-State Mining Company. He developed the Tongaha Mine Tour at Picher Okla where tourists could view the underground operations of the lead and zinc mine in the Tri-State Mining District. ... He married Fern Pendergraft on Dec 4, 1937, she survives. Burial in G.A.R. cemetery, Miami.
