Born Nov 23, 1924, in Gracemont to A. C. Vandeventer and Ruth Gaston Vandeventer. He had lived in Miami since 1939. He was a World War II veteran of the Army serving in the Phillipines. He was employed by the NEO Railroad and B.F. Goodrich company, Miami, from which he retired in 1980. He worked as a handyman and yardman in the Miami area for many years after retiring. He married Ruby Lowayne Washington on Feb 23,1947, in Miami. She survives. Burial will be in Glenn Abbey Memorial Gardens east of Miami with military rites.
