Ulrey, John

of Quapaw Okla died Oct 13, 2003. He was 80.

born Aug 29, 1923, in Neosho Missouri to W. C. Ulrey and Willa Mae Hale Ulrey. A World War II veteran of the Navy where he served as a radioman second class and a gunner on P.T. boat 175. He was a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Force during the Berlin airlift. He was a Tech Sergeant with the Air Force during the Korean War, assigned to Strategic air Command. He retired in 1971 from the department of Defense as an inspector of naval material. Married Coweta Dawes on Oct 17, 1945, in Springfield Missouri. She survives. Indian rites conducted by Kevin Dawes. Burial in Ottawa Indian cemetery, east of Miami.
