Smith, Jimmy L.

Cowboy' Smith, age 68, of rural Miami died Dec 18, 2002, at Osborne Care and Rehab Center after a lengthy illness. Smith was born Jan 11, 1934, in Okla City Okla to Jack Smith and Elizabeth Spurgeon Smith. He owned J&L Trucking for the past 35 years. He was well-known in the local rodeo circuit and participated in bareback riding, calf roping, team roping and bulldogging. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Reynolds, and his second wife, Lou Fratrick. He married Shirley Hale Gibson on Feb 11, 1976, at Miami. She survives. Burial will be in Sixkiller Cemetery.
